The Gothic exterior of the Minoritenkirche has a distinctly Frenchified feel. Some sources have attributed its style to Jacobus Parisiensis (a.k.a. Fra Giacomo of Paris), the confessor to Duke Albrecht II. It was Duke Albrecht who added the Gothic Choir to the Stephansdom.
Tympanum Bonus: If you look at the Tympanum (above the front door), you will see Mary and Mary Magdalene on the left, John the Evangelist and Saint Longinus on the right, and Christ in the middle. You may also notice that the outermost male on the right is wearing a ducal hat. Some suggest that this figure, and the corresponding female, represent Duke Albrecht II and his wife, Johanna of Pfirt.
